This wedding had a lot of challenges when it came to logistics due to the weather. Bermuda was experiencing record-breaking rain the month of H+Z’s wedding. The cocktail hour and
reception were both planned to be outside with a backup option in the ballroom. They really did not
want a ballroom wedding as being outside was important to them. The plan was for a beautiful sail
cloth tent to be set up on the beach the Friday prior to the wedding day. Unfortunately, the wind
speed was so high, Gina received word Thursday evening that being exposed to this wind
on the beach was not an option. Gina, the tenting companies and St. Regis unexpectedly
had to switch gears and a different smaller tent was placed on the lawn near the building, directly
outside of the Ballroom, to buffer it from the wind. She worked behind the scenes, redid
the seating layout and presented a firm option to the couple once vendors were all in agreement. They had no idea of what was going on and were saved the worry and stress.

The wedding ended up being a hybrid event with dinner and toasts under the tent and dancing in the air-conditioned ballroom. It was really the best of both worlds. In regard to the Ceremony, tenting over the Unfinished Church ruins was not an option. Gina was able to secure St. Peter’s Church as a backup. The weather ended up cooperating for the ceremony and dinner, but it was great that everyone was prepared and there was a backup plan!
