I have been reading quite a few upcoming wedding trends predicted by Planners. While I agree with many, I have some concerns about others.
My opinion, be weary of Planners encouraging smaller weddings that allow for bigger design budgets especially for draping and flowers. Don’t get me wrong, I love design! However, I’m not going to blow my client’s budget so that I can get featured.
The trend to have a more “relaxed” reception without the traditions such as cake cutting, special dances, bouquet toss, etc. Of course, a bouquet toss may not always be practical if your friends are already married. However, don’t miss these amazing photography ops because this saves a Planner time and consideration when preparing your timeline.
In summary, a Planner’s perfect world scenario is a smaller wedding (easier to manage), big design budgets (great for social media), less traditional events (easier to prepare a timeline).
Perhaps I would have more Instagram followers if I too encouraged more money to be spent on design. However, wedding days are not about me, it’s about my couples.
