6th Annual Share to Care Gala | La Cosa Bella Events | Wedding Planner

     The 6th annual Share to Care Gala took place in the Governor Kerr Scott Building at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. This gala is held every year to benefit the Transitions Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center.  This is the sixth Gala that La Cosa Bella Events has planned for Guiding Lights.
     This year’s theme was Black and White, a Classic Hollywood Gala.  When guests arrived at the Gala lobby, they were able to pick up or purchase tickets from an old-fashioned ticketing booth. Upon entering the main event space one would take in the gorgeous Old Hollywood backdrops on either side of the stage and the 13 piece orchestra, The Continentals, complete with a singer in classic Hollywood gown and gloves on stage.
     Lining either side of the room were chef stations from 8 different senior living communities. For the Chef Challenge each chef selected an Old Hollywood movie for their theme. Each competitor was required to produce 600 pieces of savory appetizers as well as 600 sweet dessert appetizers that were based on their theme. Competitors were also judged on presentation so their theme was factored into their decor. They were definitely creative with their decor and dress. 
     All of the attendees enjoyed the food until it was time for the formal presentations and announcement of the winners. Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living won the Peoples’ Choice Award and Atria Senior Living won the Silver Spoon awarded by professional chef judges.
After the winners were announced, a Live Auction took place.  A cruise, beach getaway, spa weekend, signed Cam Newton poster, Russell Wilson signed NC State Helmet, and lots more were auctioned off to benefit the charity.
     After 6 years of La Cosa Bella planning and coordinating the Share to Care Gala, it is wonderful to see the growth of the organization as well as the event. The Transitions Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center is an amazing organization that helps many people and we are so glad to have been able to work with them over the years and to be their planner for this event and for the upcoming Triangle Charity Polo Classic Event coming up June 4, 2016!
